A GPT3 Conversation Between TechCrunch and Emergent Line
We recently received access to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and we decided to test a few simple concepts in which a traditional chat agent would perform poorly. In a sense, it was an attempt to perform a double Turing test where both AI agents are being put to the test to see if they can plausibly pass as humans. What we found was rather exciting. We tried a few different variations of conversation between the names of portfolio companies and branded/unbranded counterparties to see what the system generated, with no additional insights in the prompt.
Much to our surprise, ChatGPT understood within 80-90% of what our businesses did, and the conversations made complete sense. Even when the portfolio company was new (not been public/online for more than 90 days), the ChatGPT system understood the offering of the business and the context the conversation should have. (Referring to TechDinners)
We’ll be posting a few of the conversations over the coming days.

Prompt: A conversation between Emergent Line and TechCrunch
An alternative conversation generated from the same prompt.
Emergent Line: Hello TechCrunch, it's great to meet you!
TechCrunch: Hi there Emergent Line, it's nice to meet you too.
Emergent Line: I wanted to talk to you about our new technology that we've been working on.
TechCrunch: That sounds interesting. What kind of technology are you developing?
Emergent Line: We've been working on a new artificial intelligence platform that is designed to be highly flexible and scalable.
TechCrunch: That's definitely a hot topic right now. Can you tell me more about how your platform works and what sets it apart from others in the market?
Emergent Line: Sure. Our platform uses advanced machine learning algorithms to process large amounts of data in real-time, allowing it to quickly adapt and learn from new information. We believe this makes it one of the most powerful AI platforms available.
TechCrunch: That's definitely impressive. I'm sure our readers would be interested in learning more about your technology. Is there anything else you'd like to share with us?
Emergent Line: Yes, we're excited to announce that our AI platform is now available for beta testing. We're looking for organizations that are interested in integrating our technology into their operations to help them improve efficiency and drive innovation.
TechCrunch: That's great news! I'll be sure to let our readers know about your beta program and encourage them to check it out. Thanks for chatting with us, Emergent Line.
Emergent Line: Thank you, TechCrunch. We appreciate the opportunity to share our technology with your audience.
