New Foundations & Updates to The Data Oath

I want to take a moment and give all of you an update on where we stand on the progress of The Data Oath. We're coming up on the one-month mark since the site's launch, and we've received some excellent feedback from the community to help us build out the foundations we currently have and add foundations that we believe will make The Data Oath stronger.

The current foundations are:

  • Inclusion (updating to Diversity)

  • Equitable

  • Transparency & Explainability

  • Improves Quality of Life

  • Accessible & Contestable

The new foundations we are working on adding are as follows:

  • Diversity

  • Privacy

  • Consent

  • Trust & Accountability

These additions bring us to 8 foundations as of now. Inclusivity is being replaced with Diversity. We will be releasing the completed foundations in the coming weeks on the site for further review by everyone (including you!), and we are planning to have the finalized version of all the foundations shortly after.

After we finalize the foundations for The Data Oath, we are looking forward to sharing the project's subsequent phases. We've shared it with a few people, and we believe everyone in the tech, business, and activism communities will be thrilled.

If you would like to help, participate, provide feedback, or see how you can be involved with The Data Oath, we'd love to hear from you.
